![]() Bank of Snootz iz a behavioral incentive program for kids with a twist -- you don't have to be the child's parent to reward progress toward the good behavior goal. Traditional star or sticker boards are inconvenient because they are not portable. B.O.S can be managed right from your iPhone(tm), home computer or laptop! Rewards can be dished out by parents, teachers, babysitters, other family members. All you have to do is share the account name and password combination you have opened. Using the program is so easy. Think of an account name, open an account, describe the "deal" (i.e. Billy will get one "snoot" every time he makes his bed and when he collects twenty snoots he can watch his favorite television show), and then start adding snootz. A "snoot" by the way is the unit of currency we use. It's like a token or chip. Snootz are traded for good behavior. Registering is simple. When you click the button below you will pay $7.95 with your Paypal account or major credit card. Once you are registered you can create as many accounts as you want for your children. We would ask that you not distribute your registration details. If you want to create 'accounts' for your children will need a username and password. This is what you are purchasing by registering. In addition, you will need to know what "account" to make deposits in. That means if you have a teacher or coach you want to help you with your kids behavior you must give them your account name and account password. This is NOT the same as your site username and password. Every time you create a "deal" with your child, that deal becomes an "account" at the bank. For every account you need a password. So if you want others to deposit into your child's account, give them the account name and password you made up for that account but NOT your site username and password. Refer to the instructions for more specifics on how to use the system.
Guest Helpers are people like teacher, coaches, babysitters, other family members who are let "in" on the deal being made. In other words, Guest Helpers can add snootz to a kid's account. In order to do so the Guest Helper must have the account name and password to the account. You can only get that from the parent or "manager" of the account.
You login with the username and password you picked when you registered and paid to use the site. You can give the account name and password to anyone who worls with your kids but you may not give your registered site username and password to those people. Anyone who has the account name can add snootz to the accounts you create. Teachers, coaches, babysitter and other important "Guest Helpers" can add to the accounts you create as long as you give them the account name and account password. You should always refer Guest Helpers to the Guest Helper area of the site.
Bank of Snootz is a fun and creative way to encourage better behavior in children. It is also an informational website for parents who want to become more effective managing and (yes it is possible) enjoying their kids. The website and concept are from Dr. Peter Favaro, an internationally known psychologist, author and educator. Use bankofsnootz.com as follows: 1. Obtain access to the site. This happens in one of two ways. Either register for $7.95 or obtain an account username and password from someone who is also working with the child you want to help. 2. Registered users are permitted to share access to specific accounts with "Guest Helpers". That means relatives, teachers, coaches, babysitters, etc. Please do not purchase a registration and then give the site username and password to people. That would be stealing access and it is illegal. 3. Go to "Open an Account." The best way to use the site is to open an account for every new behavior. "Jimmy Making His Bed," should be a different account than "Jimmy Doing Homework After School." The number of accounts you can open are unlimited -- just keep it in the family. When you open an account you describe a "deal". Specify the behavior you want improved. Also specify start date, end date and how many snootz need to be earned before a prize or privilege should be earned. Choose an account name and a password. The account name is a short name to describe the account. The password for the account name is NOT the same password as the password for the site. The password should be different for every account. When you give someone access to the site you must provide the account name and the password for the account. 4. When its time to reward good behavior go to the "Deposit to Account" link. Add 1,2 or 3, snootz. If you are a Guest Helper you do this by going to the Guest Helper area of the site. 5. When you want to see progress go to the "See Your Snootz" section. enter your account name and password. You will see your progress toward the goal and whether you have reached it.
